In this online Zoom lecture from 7-8.30pm (GMT) on 7 November 2021, glass artist Lisa Pettibone will focus on the process of bending (or slumping) glass multiple times to achieve complex forms. Students may have previously taken her studio course (Sculptural Slumping Masterclass) and want to improve their understanding of this kiln forming technique or new students will enjoy a fresh perspective on slumping techniques. She will discuss the range of props she uses to hold, drape and hang glass into extraordinary shapes. After the session, resources will be available on a Google Drive including: a sheet with top tips and temperatures, presentation images/videos and a recording of the session when completed. There is a 20 minute Q&A session at the end via the chat box or live discussion (depending on numbers). If you are outside the UK and the time zone doesn’t suit you, consider signing up as you’ll receive a recording of the session and the course materials to go over in your own time.
